Public Workshops">Public Workshops

For applicants who fall short of the requirements for our advertised positions, or school leavers looking to pursue a ship career in future, we recommend attending one of our public workshops.

Based on the interest shown, we endeavor to conduct these workshops once a month at our offices in Centurion. Public workshops are also held in Cape Town a few times a year, coinciding with hiring trips. See the bottom of this page for the next proposed Cape Town dates.

Benefits from attending:

  • Discover the world of possibilities that international cruise employment can afford you
  • Gain valuable information around ship life, and what cruise line employers expect
  • Learn how to formulate a noteworthy cv, and present yourself with confidence during interviews
  • Become travel-wise with expert Travel / VISA / Immigration guidance
  • Learn how to spot scam companies

The workshops will be conducted by Mr Johann Strauss, Director of Cruise Alternatives, who has 20 years’ travel and international placement experience

Book your seat now:

Should you wish to attend one of our workshops kindly send us an email to with the words “Public Workshop PTA” or “Public Workshop CT” in the subject line.  We will then send you the next open date availability and an official invitation.

Workshops normally run for 3 hours in the late afternoon, the last Thursday of the month, at a cost of R250.00 per person. (We need a minimum attendance of 20 people to make the workshop viable, otherwise it will hold over to the next month)

The next workshop in Cape Town is scheduled for 15 September 2016 – limited seating available
